Description
This soil Redox probe is specially designed for both handheld and standalone (with datalogger) soil Redox and temperature measurements.
It has 1 Pt Redox electrode at 30 cm from the probe top side, 1 Temperature electrode (NTC) at 29 cm from the probe top side and an integrated reference electrode. The integrated reference electrode contains a harmless 3 M KCl gel for long-lasting soil Redox measurements.
Because the reference electrode (integrated in the black pointed tip), Pt half-ring electrode and temperature electrode are integrated in one probe, soil Redox and temperature measurements are very easy to perform.
For handheld measurements, it can be connected to the Lutron mV meter using banana jacks and an adaptor (BNC to 2 x banana jack). It is not possible to measure the temperature (only Redox potential) with the Lutron mV meter.
For standalone measurements of both Redox potential and temperature, it can be connected to a datalogger with an input impedance ≥ 10 Giga Ohm. See our soil Redox probe manual for suggestions for datalogger connections.
